Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks at the White House | The White House

Every seat of the White House Movie Theater was taken by, in Tom Hanks' memorable words, "some sort of honcho and big shot" on Thursday evening for a screening of the first episode of HBO's new miniseries The Pacific. Produced by Hanks and Steven Spielberg, the 10 part series tells the story of the brave Americans who fought in the Pacific theater of World War II, a story not told by Hollywood as frequently as the European front. We've got a a behind-the-scenes video with the producing duo as they prepare to show the first hour of their work to a First audience. See an Academy Award winning producer and director turn his hand-held camera on us and the President:

In August 1951 a small French village near Marseilles became a part of a CIA-funded experiment with drugs, and as a result five hundred people were affected, US writer Hank Albarelli told RT.

The experiment caused at least three suicides and 40 people were taken to a nearby psychiatric institute, Mr. Albarelli says.

German company Bundesdruckerei showed off what it is calling the world's first e-passport equipped with an AMOLED display at CeBIT 2010. It could be the future of airport security, ditching paper passports for one driver's license-like card that can display a rotating view of the passport owner. And what's even more amazing is that the card doesn't need a battery for the screen to function.
